This is the last picture of my bud before his third haircut ever. Thank God. The mop is no mas. I really did love the surfer boy / frat boy thing for awhile, but the poor kid couldn’t see with his bangs down to the middle of his nose. (Do boys have “bangs?” Well, he kinda did…)
I took him in for his third visit to the talented Miss Elita at Advanced Coloration Salon in Historic Buford. I’ve been seeing her for 12 years and wouldn’t let another soul touch my hair. Over the years she’s also become a dear friend, as we actually get to spend quality time together at least every couple months, which is more than I can say for some of my other friends during this busy season in our lives.
And there’s no one else on this planet that can nail the little dude ‘do like Elita. Her own son is three and always rocks a little studly spike. (She needs to post more pics to Facebook!) I’ve seen some pretty dreadful boy haircuts – not naming names here – but Dumb & Dumber is not what we’re going for. With my little man off to school next week for the first time and wanting to impress the ladies, it was time for a little makeover. I kinda fell more madly in love with him as the haircut progressed…my little stud muffin! Here are some more pictures from his haircut:
Ok, so here’s my plug…You can go to a kids-kut place and yeah, they may have cute decor and cartoons, but I’ve just seen too many hair-fails. Not that your kids have to have cool hair (mine do) but for only $25 (your first kids haircut is complimentary…to prove that there IS a difference between a talented stylist and a $12 great-clip) your son too can have a rad mohawk spike. Or whatever you’re into. My girls are going to see Miss Elita tomorrow and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for their back-to-school haircuts!
Thanks for reading my post! This is my personal-ish blog but feel free to visit my all-business all the time website for more of my work: Atlanta Family Photographers. I love family photojournalism, a documentary-style approach to capturing your life and loves without any posing or bribery. I most love newborn hospital photography, whether birth or Fresh 48 because it freezes those beautiful, important moments that will soon be a blur. I’m one of several Buford GA photographers who specialize in family photography, so if documentary-style ain’t your thang, I’d be happy to recommend some of my talented friends. Just drop me a line at email@example.com.
